«Against the Clouds» is an installation that draws on objects and practices from healing traditions in Peru. Through light, sound, and kinetic work, the various materialities, biographies, and symbolic references embedded in these materials are transformed—they become Others. It is a play of cleansing and enchantment, stillness and movement, also interrupted by sonic bursts: fragments of field recordings and processed music, as well as sounds generated by the very artifacts themselves. Together, the spectral presence of sound, the assemblages, and the automatons create a hypnotic experience. Clouds refer not only to the weather but also to the immaterial, the transient, and to living in this city (Lima), crushed against the sky.
